And I've started a BLOG!!
Just two quick things for today.
1) Pitchers and Catchers reported to Clearwater, FL today officially starting the 2010 Philadelphia Phillies season. I feel like I have been waiting for this date forEVER! To see Roy Halladay standing in front of his locker at Bright House Field - wow. These past few seasons have been a welcome change from the Phillies teams I grew up watching - mainly in the basement, with no hopes of ever making playoffs (except for the miracle of the 1993 team) - and I can't even imagine how awesome this season will be with the addition of new Mr. 34. Can't wait. I'm counting the days until I head down to Clearwater too. I haven't been to Spring Training since 2003 - the last year Jack Russell Stadium - so I am excited to see Bright House - reportedly they are going to have crab fries down there this year.....yummmmm.
2) SHAUN WHITE IS STILL THE MOST AWESOMEST SNOWBOARDER EVERRRRRRRRR!!!!
Photo I took of Shaun White @ Winter X Games, Aspen, 2009
The Snowboarding events at the Winter Olympics are my favorite ones to watch. Tonight's Men's Halfpipe event was awesome and Shaun threw down a near perfect score in his 2nd run, even when he had the gold on lock already. That Big Mac/double McTwist/insane trick he stomped at the end - INSANE!!!!
I remember the first time I saw Shaun White compete in person - back in 2001 when the Winter X Games were held at Mount Snow in VT. He was 13 and he was already awesome. It was his first Winter X - also, it was US Olympic gold medalist and Mt. Snow native Kelly Clark's first as well, at age 16 - and I've followed both of them since then. I've boarded for 10 years and will never be anywhere near as good as they are - but it's fun to watch them and dream about flying 25 feet out of the half pipe. I can't wait to watch the girls do it tomorrow!!!
